Area History Things to do Fun Stuff

So much to do...so just relax!

Golfing, Fishing, Boating, Surfing, Swimming, Diving & Snorkelling, Historical Site-Seeing, Wildflower Season (August to October), Motorcross, Lawn Bowls, Skate Park, New Rec Centre with Equipped Gym, Shops, Cafes and Restaurants and  Rock Lobster  a Port Denison/ Dongara speciality.

Dongara/Denison has the annual Blessing of The Fleet and Midwest Food Festival every November  to celebrate the start of the Crayfishing Season. A fantastic weekend to be in town with markets and fireworks on the Saturday night.

Kitestock is on every February and held on South Beach in Port Dension. Kitesurfers from all over the state and sometimes further abroad spend  time here. This is quite an event to see.

Wildflower Season runs between August and October and many travellers spend time here exploring and finding the many species the area has to offer including the magnificent Wreath Flower.

Lawn Bowls, Golf and  Motorcross Carnivals run regularly throughout the year and the town has a new recreation centre with facilities including an equipped gym. The golf course is superb and not to be missed.

Ellendale Pool is a special place just north of Dongara Denison where one can spend time picnicking and relaxing. Or perhaps spend some time at Greenough finding out more about the history of the area.

Dongara Denison has a local winery and two olive farms close by for you to visit.

Or treat the family to something unique...Saturday night at the loal driveins (in season only).
